We are seeking a Vice President of Engineering who will be responsible for leading engineering teams and projects designing our state-of-the-art Biogas and Renewable Natural Gas facilities in the United States.Our projects range from Feasibility and Owners Engineering deliverables to complex EPCM Turnkey efforts. A DAY IN THE LIFE

Reporting to the VP of Design and Engineering, and as a senior leader of our team, you will be responsible for a full range of activities including:

  • Be an integral part of our safety culture, approaching all aspects of work with a safety-first attitude.
  • Lead a talented team of engineering professionals focused on delivering efficient and high-quality design packages to our customers
  • Lead and mentor a team in all technical aspects of the project including planning, design execution, safety-in-design, vendor relationships, communications, resource management, project schedule/scope/budget, and quality assurance and control.
  • Manage team utilization and planning to ensure projects are appropriately staffed and hiring plans are in place for expected growth.
  • Identify engineering staffing resource needs, including internal and subcontracted engineering partners.
  • Drive development of internal engineering standards, specifications, and processes.
  • Directly establish, lead and mentor the engineering team consisting of multiple in-house disciplines (process, chemical, electrical, mechanical, and controls/programming) and subcontractors (civil, structural, high voltage electrical)
  • Oversee and assist with the preparation of detailed design deliverables, including establishing appropriate design methods, conducting engineering design reviews, coordinating with all engineering disciplines, and preparing design deliverables including drawings, process engineering documents, specifications, and cost estimates for anaerobic digestion processes, digestate handling, and gas upgrading facilities.
  • Drive engineering initiatives including establishing design standards, implementing quality initiatives, and implementing process improvements.
  • Oversee RNG project design vision and execution from conceptual design through startup, commissioning, and handover to operations.
  • Drive a sense of urgency for goal achievement to the team.
  • Apply technical expertise and experience in the design of anaerobic digestion and biogas upgrading system using commercially available technologies.
  • Be part of internal teams tasked with evaluating innovative technologies for the conversion of biomass to RNG.
  • Investigate client facilities and develop solutions for integrating anaerobic digestion and RNG production into the existing operations.
  • Develop and standardize quality control and quality assurance tests that ensure designs are compliant with the regulatory and clients' technical requirements and budget(s).
  • Assist in marketing business opportunities with key clients and development of responses to RFP/RFQs.
  • Build and maintain client relations with both internal and external clients coupled with the development of new clients.
  • Travel to the project site to conduct project-related tasks; provide timely responses to managers and clients on project tasks (domestic and international travel estimated at 20%).
  • Exercise safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs.
  • Participate in Company's continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts.
  • Keep up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Chemical, Process, Mechanical, Industrial or Environmental Engineering from an accredited university
  • 15+ years of RNG engineering-related experience
  • Minimum of 10 years in supervising engineering staff (multiple disciplines) in large scale RNG or similar projects
  • Minimum of5 years engineering experience in RNG project design environment
  • Minimum 5 years process design or operations and maintenance experience
  • Professional Engineering Registration
  • Excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills, including a demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and motivate others.
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Solid time/project management skills.
  • Able to work independently manage multiple responsibilities (i.e. self-starter, self-motivated)
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software,
