Job Title: VP, Assistant General Counsel

Location: New York, NY, Hybrid

Responsibilities:

• Negotiate electronic trading agreements, brokerage services agreements, commission sharing agreements, environmental brokerage services agreements, NDAs, and introducing broker agreements.
• Primary sales and trading legal coverage for BGC, including Fenics, and GFI entities.
• Review licensing requirements to approve cross-border transactions.
• Work closely with business, compliance, legal risk, and operations to facilitate new business while appropriating and managing risk.
• Provide guidance on new products and businesses.
• Back-up coverage for negotiating prime brokerage agreements, Master Repurchase Agreements, Master Securities Lending Agreements, and ISDAs.
• Role is based in NYC as part of the Sales and Trading Legal team.

Qualifications:

• 5- 10 years of legal experience, preferably with in-house legal experience.
• The successful candidate is a detail-oriented, collaborative team player, who thrives in a dynamic, exciting environment, fitting with the firm's entrepreneurial spirit.

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree required
• JD Required

Hybrid Working - We are currently operating a hybrid model for our shared services employees (including this role). We anticipate continuing these arrangements for the foreseeable future with periodic review. Hybrid for Cantor Fitzgerald & its affiliates across the working week means three days office-based and two days remote.

Salary: $ 220,000 - $ 225,000

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $220,000 to $225,000. The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
