Principal Responsibilities:

  • Set the vision for a multi-year, strategic technology roadmap with the goal of building and implementing “best-in-class” information technology and informatic solutions to support the current and planned growth of program operations and advance the organization’s work with health information (HIT) and client technologies
  • Work closely with the executive leadership team, Program Directors and Management staff to gain a comprehensive understanding of the current use of technology and requirements and how to best translate IT and Informatics solutions to meet business needs
  • Define and set standards across the organization for IT governance, decision-support, data access, data management, applications analytics, quality and vendor relationships
  • Design an informatics strategy which informs and supports service delivery, program planning, clinical/healthcare integration and executive decision-making
  • Provide direction, oversight and coaching to support the Director, Information Technology and Managing Director, Business Integration and assure that these operating functions are appropriately aligned to support organizational requirements and initiatives, as well as the timely completion of key organizational projects
  • In collaboration with the COO, staff the Board Technology Committee and provide the necessary planning and operational data to assist the Committee in its work

  • Information Technology | Systems
  • Set the strategy, operating standards, policies and budget for all IT infrastructure, systems, software, security and database management to support Sefhelp’s current and future program/service needs and business processes
  • Lead the execution of the information technology strategy across Selfhelp’s operations, partnerships and other external relationships in the field of senior and aging services
  • Manage multiple information, communication systems and projects including data, voice, imaging, office automation, and the organization’s core healthcare initiatives.
  • Oversee all IT initiatives including technology grants and manage projects from initial design and system specification through system roll-out and implementation
  • Oversee all key IT vendor relationships and consultants that support IT operations, projects and activities
  • Develop enterprise-wide contingency, disaster recovery and risk mitigation plan assuring that processes and systems are in place to comply with all IT and data security standards and best practices, HIPAA and healthcare privacy requirements and other applicable regulatory and licensing requirements
  • Provide the highest level of customer service to internal end users and external parties to ensure adherence to user requirements and service expectations
  • Provide support of Selfhelp’s social media/digital strategy including web development and other “on-line” communication resource activities
  • Oversee inventory of all IT assets and assure full lifetime cycle value is achieved, including coordination with key IT product and service providers
  • Maintain updated knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies and “best in class” application development practices in home and community-based care
  • Develop with input from the executive leadership team and Program Directors the annual IT budget for the organization and develop the appropriate policies to monitor and control all costs related to the acquisition, implementation and operation of all IT systems and resources

  • Informatics
  • Collaborate with Program Departments and executive leadership to identify healthcare, clinical and program data and how to best integrate this into informatics platform that will support and enhance service delivery, program planning and critical decision-making
  • Oversee the implementation, adoption and integration of healthcare applications, data and key performance indicators used by clinical and program staff to enhance clinical and programmatic workflow and improve patient care and outcomes
  • Ensures close collaboration between the Business Integration Department and staff working across all home and community-based health programs to coordinate data integration and analytics strategy
  • Optimize configuration and use of technology and automation to advance Selfhelp’s efforts and processes supporting continuous performance improvement, advancing quality of care and health outcomes, and assuring patient safety
  • Oversee and drive the organization’s strategy and standards of data collection, data sharing and data management across Selfhelp’s health information platform
  • Collaborate with government funders, managed care companies and other providers to ensure that required data inputs and systems are implemented in compliance with required standards and practice

  • Technology Innovation
  • Lead strategic planning to achieve organizational goals by identifying and prioritizing technology development initiatives, products and innovations that advance Seflhelp’s impact and service delivery
  • Oversee and continuously advance the development of Selfhelp’s portfolio of market leading IT products and scalable solutions to further promote Seflhelp's’ work in the home and community-based healthcare markets
  • Ensure that the appropriate resources, design standards and processes are in place to continuously evaluate risk, benefits, ease of adoption and opportunities of new product innovation
  • Work with clinical and program leadership to understand both gaps in service and future trends in order to help consider new technology platforms and solutions for potential development
  • Represent Selfhelp at conferences, provider and other external stakeholder meetings to leverage new technology developments in the field and promote Seflhelp’s work
  • Maintains strong industry process and product knowledge to identify emerging trends in IT, clinical practice and healthcare informatics
  • Adhere to organization’s standards by completing annual mandatory trainings in a timely manner on topics including – but not limited to – Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, IT Security Awareness, Compliance, OSHA, HIPAA and any other training the organization may deem necessary in regards to regulatory compliance or good business practices.
