Position Summary

The Carlyle Group seeks to hire a Client Relationship Manager (CRM) to join its growing AlpInvest Investor Relations team. The position will have daily external client-building and relationship management responsibilities which include working with large institutional investors to source large customized managed account prospects, as well as marketing the Firm's flagship Secondary and Co-Investment programs. The successful candidate will be self-directed and able to prioritize multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have strong existing relationships within the investment community.

The CRM will also design and oversee marketing plans, due diligence materials, customized investor presentations, account proposals, quarterly investor letters and other investor deliverables.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

  • Identifying, cultivating relationships with, and securing investment capital commitments from current and prospective North American investors for AlpInvest products
  • Own and manage client list while working collaboratively with Senior Relationship managers (SRMs) and other CRMs in both AlpInvest and across Carlyle
  • As a part of the team, the CRM will be involved in the fundraising strategy and prospecting as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong existing relationships with the investor community.
  • Proactively seek and support the development of new initiatives with target firms to enhance Carlyle's success and market presence
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings, group presentations and client meetings/events
  • Keeps abreast of industry/market trends and developments while maintaining sound working knowledge of AlpInvest's products and services
  • Capture all activity and sales-related data in AlpInvest's client relationship management system
  • Effectively manage firm resources, which involve travel expenses, and entertainment budget
  • Prepare detailed marketing materials (investor presentations, due diligence materials, case studies etc.)
  • Collaborate with other project managers / segment / product specialists throughout the capital formation process to ensure full coordination and implement best practices and lessons learned from prior initiatives.
  • Evaluate the economics and feasibility of new custom account opportunities, new products or strategies


Qualifications

Education & Certificates
  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Relevant Series licenses (7 or 82, 63)
Professional Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of Investor Relations and/or Consultant Relations experience, mainly in Financial Services and Private Equity
  • Existing knowledge of and relationships with investor community
  • Demonstrated track record of exceeding performance expectations, especially related to fundraising targets
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Strong proficiency in client relationship management software
  • Willingness for frequent travel
