Position Summary

The aircraft mechanic performs maintenance, repair, launch, and recovery activities on aircraft. Ensures aircraft are in good mechanical condition and safe for flight. He / She will sign off the release of aircraft for flight performs maintenance, inspections, and servicing requirements in accordance with approved technical data and all applicable program and service guidance. Maintains and updates aircraft records and status within the computerized CAMP maintenance system. Keeps the maintenance staff updated on aircraft status. Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Meet goals to fulfill contract specifications.
  • Responsible for preflight, thru flight, and post-flight inspections as well as scheduled or unscheduled maintenance.
  • Ensures aircraft records are maintained and records all discrepancies noted before, during and after flight.
  • Provides technical guidance and assistance to flight crews regarding observed discrepancies and malfunctions.
  • Performs aircraft servicing, inspection, and maintenance duties including fueling operations and aircraft configuration changes as required.
  • Interface with Maintenance Manager.
  • Perform other qualified duties as assigned.
  • Performs work in complex conditions under time and/or mission constraints to include all-weather, day and night operations.
  • Performs and/or assists with aircrew briefings and debriefings.
  • Understands maintenance forms/historical records and ensures they are accurate, up to date, and complete.
  • Perform daily aircraft cleaning and hangar cleaning as needed.
  • Maintain professional attire, appearance, and work environment in accordance with MAG Aerospace standards.
  • Working in Aircraft maintenance hangar or outside.
Requirements

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge and Skills

The required skills and knowledge include:
  • Formal training or certificate requirements for completion of high school or equivalent and/or U.S. military technical schools or specialized training course.
  • Working knowledge and experience in reading, comprehending, and interpreting technical documents, including manuals, and technical data.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills and technical presentation skills.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of hand tools, hardware, and equipment used in the maintenance of aircraft.
  • Must have close visual acuity such as viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts/ wiring.
  • Ability to perform general hangar activities such as aircraft towing, weight, and balance, etc.
The minimum years of related experience required:
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience as a licensed FAA A&P mechanic.
  • Must have at least six months experience in the inspection, servicing, or maintenance of aircraft systems within the last 24 months.
Education

The minimum level of education required is:
  • High School Diploma
Desired Requirements

The desired skills, knowledge, and education include:
  • Previous experience with Cessna 208 aircraft strongly preferred.
Other Qualifications

Outside of the above, other certifications, licenses, or clearances include:
  • All final candidates hired must successfully pass a Drug and Alcohol Testing and a background check.
  • During training and throughout the employment period, the individual must demonstrate and maintain proficiency in understanding aircraft systems, components, and operating limitations as well as understanding and complying with regulations and policies and aircraft operations and repair manuals.
  • Required to hold a current United States Passport.
  • OCONUS travel is required for this position, approximately 50%
Physical requirements for the job include:
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and comply with OSHA standards.
  • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/ or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.
