The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts DistributionofCat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurementand thedesign andmanufactureof Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

Job Summary

The Transportation Analyst analyzes and develops transportation plans to control the movement of commodities throughout a manufacturing or distribution network to ensure the smooth running of operations at optimal transportation cost levels. As a Transportation Analyst II on the International Transportation Team, this position is accountable for supporting the transportation business solutions used by internal personnel and forwarders managing multi-modal global end to end shipments of Caterpillar components domestically and overseas. This position identifies, investigates, and resolves problems with business solutions to ensure shipment visibility to facilities and dealers.

What You Will Do
  • Responsible for RCCA of outbound Cat Parts shipment ASN Grief that spans across multiple internal and external support groups globally
  • Lead Carrier integration efforts into the Caterpillar solution for new heavy air or LCL providers and/or provider changes on lanes globally
  • Perform business UAT testing to any forwarder integration data or flows
  • Write or assisting writing/reviewing transportation business solutions requirements (FRD)
  • Prepare and present shipment visibility KPI performance scorecards weekly and monthly as needed
  • Research and provide feedback to customer service on any shipment visibility issues
  • Lead, support and train non US regions on KPI performance dashboards and integration processes so they can manage day to day issues locally and within region
  • Support global transportation ops and EWM users as needed with data or process clarifications
  • Provides analytical insights and reporting to leadership and internal customers to generate fact driven solutions and performance metric reporting
  • Deploys process improvement initiatives to support Caterpillar's quality, velocity and cost objectives, working with IT process partners, customers, and Providers on solution design, testing, and implementation of solution improvements
  • The incumbent manages the completion of own work assignments and coordinates work with others in a global team atmosphere and team culture
What You Have
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
What Will Make You Stand Out
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Supply Chain or Engineering
  • Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
  • Transportation: Knowledge of and experience with the means of transporting materials and goods to and from suppliers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities and customers the manufacturing facility.
  • Experience in any of the following areas : SQL, Supply Chain Systems, Data Integrations, Data Analytics, Tableau, PowerBI, Salesforce, Blue Yonder, Infor Nexus
