Business

  • Respond completely and accurately to same day queries received from internal stakeholders.
Processes

  • Ensure compliance with Group Policy, Procedures and Process (PPP) and influence changes as required.
  • Review, resolve and/or further escalate alerts according to departmental policies.
  • Queue management of CERS to ensure cases are handled in a timely manner.
  • Determine if the transaction alert(s) are true or false-positive matches; conduct additional investigation when necessary; clearly and thoroughly document all decisions and findings with supporting rationale.
  • Raise questions and concerns to the Team Lead as needed concerning vague/contradictory/confusing list entries.
  • Coordinate with Relationship Teams and/or Clients to obtain additional information in order to fully disposition potential matches.
  • Escalate suspicious cases and/or patterns to Team Lead for guidance and direction.
  • Identify areas of improvement around investigation processes as well as FCC escalations.
  • Diligently assess received inquiry responses and documents (i.e. invoices, Bill of Lading, vessel/shipping movements and ownership).
  • Minimize and eliminate the casing of false positives alerts by sharing trends and patterns found to the Team Lead.
  • Escalate higher risk or complex requests to Transaction Screening Team Lead for guidance and direction.
  • Assist and provide training and subject matter advise to Transaction Screening Case Analysts.
  • Support general transaction screening activities and other duties, including special projects, as assigned.

  • Provide subject matter expertise to other Analysts within the group and other business unites as required.
Risk Management

  • Adherence to America's Code of Conduct/Group Values, local laws and regulations, and internal risk and compliance policies.
  • Timely, comprehensive and transparent responses to risk, compliance, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Attendance at mandatory Risk and Compliance training and completion of all mandatory e-Learnings
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Embed "Here for Good" and The Group's brand values in Transaction Screening Unit, Americas.
  • Encourage Team Work and collaborative efforts towards the greater good and success of your colleagues.
Governance

  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
  • Identify unusual transaction / concerns and escalate to direct Manager
  • Attend and review mandatory SFU Research training sessions conducted by FCC.

Other Responsibilities
  • Stays abreast of industry news surrounding US and Global Sanctions in order to execute effective, risk-based decisions.
  • Given the nature of the job, staff may be required to be on call for crisis-related situations.
  • Individual will be required to work some holidays and overtime as needed.
  • Asist in testing of application changes in relation to daily responsibilities which may occur during non-business hours.

Qualification
  • This position is at an intermediate professional level and requires strong execution, communication, investigative, and analytical abilities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of CHIPS, FEDWIRE, SWIFT and Letters of Credit
  • 2+ years' experience in a Compliance or Sanctions environment.
  • Complete concept comprehension of OFAC, Group, and AML related experience and skills, as well as knowledge of current OFAC guidelines and regulations
  • Full understanding of FIRCO Continuity - TSaaS functionality (FUF tags, Origin, Designation, etc.).
  • Full understanding of CERS
  • Knowledge of PC functionalities (i.e.: Basic website navigation)
  • Strong ability to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Ability to work independently and self-start without constant supervisory/guidance.
  • Professional conduct, critical thinking, and time management skills.
  • Good organizational and investigative ability

Expected annual base pay range for the role is 69,197 $ to 112,445 $ . The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location. At Standard Chartered Bank, Base pay is only part of the total compensation package.
