Job Summary

The Training Coordinator will lead the creation and implementation of a comprehensive training program at Nordson Medical's AT-US business to ensure that all active personnel are fully trained and certified to perform their operational duties in their assigned areas of responsibility to meet compliance requirements. The Training Coordinator will be responsible for codifying tacit training content across all product lines. The Training Coordinator will oversee the trainers who execute the training.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing a comprehensive training program which outlines the training and documentation required to demonstrate the necessary competence for personnel performing work affecting product quality.
  • Create job/task-specific training plans which clearly define requirements to perform that particular job/task.
  • Maintain accuracy and appropriateness of training plans and revise as needed.
  • Work with trainers to assure they are training employees in the most consistent and effective manner possible.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training, and revise and update training plans and programs as needed.
  • Ensure that its personnel are aware of the relevance and importance of their activities and how they contribute to the achievement of the quality objectives
  • Ensures new personnel gets essential training and that all training documentation is following GMP and GDP's. Conduct and support effective onboarding and training.for new hires.
  • Responsibilities include identifying general training needs to enhance employees' skills, performance, productivity and quality of work and coordinating the fulfillment of such training (i.e. using in-house or external training resources).
  • Maintain updated database and training records on time.
  • Responsible to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
  • Conduct and support effective onboarding and training.for new hires.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure new employees are sufficiently trained in their specific job function. Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices.
  • Control record list of unique assigned signatures for all personnel in Nordson medical.
  • Documentation and handling of access keys to new employees
  • Generates periodic reports and monthly metrics appropriate to Training for incorporation into Quality Monthly Report and to be posted as part of company metrics. Provides additional data to management as required for Management Review.
  • Manage the log for both individual and group training, evaluations and special training.
  • Support Quality training for new staff on the topics of ISO 13485, GMP's.
  • Spend time in manufacturing area with the aim of to identify awareness and training. Determine the necessary competence for personnel performing work affecting product quality
  • Manage and oversee Come Grow with Us - Pay for Performance training and performance metrics.
  • Develop methodology and system to manage cross-training of employees to be used by Production personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience Requirements
  • Experience as a Training Coordinator, Trainer, Training Facilitator or similar role in a manufacturing industry
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Engineering field. It may be substituted for some of years of required experience and knowledge.
  • A minimum of three years related experience preferably in the medical device industry.


Preferred Skills and Abilities
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Proficient leader that can work independently and manage multiple direct reports that may work on different schedules and in different areas.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with operators, peers, and management.
  • Team player with flexible attitude and ability to prioritize workload and handle multiple tasks/deadlines within a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Training Within Industry (TWI) concepts and methodology is highly preferred.
  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Basic skills in data management and graphical presentation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Considerable knowledge of inspection methods and procedures, including good manufacturing and good documentation practices Measurement devices (vision system, caliper, micrometers, and variety of gages).
  • Be motivating, proactive and have ability to promote / create a positive and productive change in people that make up the production team
  • COMPUTER SKILLS:
  • Good working knowledge with Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, etc. is required.
  • Aptitude to learn new software implementation and applications.


Working Conditions and Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle or feel, frequently required to talk or hear, occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel and crouch.
  • Must be able to work in manufacturing environments exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, (vision 20/20 is a plus).
  • The employee must be willing and able to travel to the USA.
  • Ability to work in office setting.
  • Ability to use special protection devices for ears and eyes at the same as gloves for hands
