Job Description Conintued
• Ensures tools are maintained and production-ready to support daily production requirements.
• Provide guidance, maintain scheduling and distribute workload for tooling personnel on daily operations and other projects.
• Maintains a tooling preventative maintenance program to ensure optimal tooling performance and availability for production.
• Holds team members accountable for the quality and timeliness of their work.
• Identify problem tools and works closely with Tool Engineering to optimize tool performance.
• Ensures tool room equipment is well-maintained and operating at maximum efficiency.
• Ensures healthy and safe work conditions are maintained at all times on the plant floor.
• Technically support and advise the most economical repairs of existing tooling.
• Improving the availability and uptime for tooling while providing support to manufacturing.
• Interacts daily with all factory management associates to ensure tooling needs are met.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Ability to competently read and understand tooling drawings to determine appropriate action.
  • Strong trouble-shooting capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize effectively and to be able to use methodical approaches to complex problems/issues.
  • Must possess organizational ability in order to set priorities, organize workload, and meet production deadlines.
  • Must possess the ability to communicate with a broad range of process partners.
  • Strong motivational skills, listening skills and communication skills.
  • Resourcefulness in accomplishing objectives and tasks.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to operate typical machine shop tools for metal removal such as a mill, lathe, surface grinder and measurement tools.
  • Ability to read Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance symbols.
  • Must be able to do basic math, read and comprehend instructions, write reports, and speak and understand English.
  • Must be able to work competently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to bend, stoop, twist, reach, lift 40 pounds or more and stand on feet for an extended period.
  • Mold Maker, Tool and Die Maker or Tool Maker apprenticeship certification preferred.
his is a 1st shift position-- some weekends required.
