Location: El Segundo, CA
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Test and Evaluation Engineer to join their Engineering Test and Evaluation team in El Segundo, CA. This role is responsible for completing test procedures on flight hardware and verifying all spacecraft subsystems. In addition, implements scripted test procedures, first passes troubleshooting test anomalies, and performs data analysis and review.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

  • Assists in demonstrating the effectiveness of test methods
  • Develops simple test procedures and instrumentation and configuration definition needed to perform the test and minimize risk

  • This position requires a current Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (U.S. Citizenship required) or requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.
  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
  • Works under general supervision
  • Prepares test reports for review
  • Alerts senior engineers of off-nominal data
  • Participates in evaluation of test performance data Reviews test data for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer
  • Supports development of test debrief material
  • Assists in coordinating the manufacture and assembly of test hardware
  • Identifies solutions to basic problems and supports the development of metrology processes, methods, and tools
  • Designs component and sub-assembly level hardware or software and uses analytical tools to verify the design
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 1+ years of experience working in a laboratory environment
  • 1+ years of experience with test instrumentation and/or methods

Preferred Quailifiactions:

  • 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Good teammate, able to work in a collaborative environment
  • Strong communication skills

Typical Education/Experience:

Associate (Level 2)

  • Bachelor's degree and typically 2 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Mid-Level (Level 3):

  • Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
