Summary:
The systems analyst will work as part of an interdisciplinary team focused on improving patient care by developing front-end web-based technologies and dashboarding as well as systems infrastructure to identify and address operational gaps and other issues. They will work with a diverse team to develop and present organizational metrics and dashboards, implement online tools, improve processes, and streamline workflows. In this role, they will support the reporting of clinical and operational data for use throughout Roswell Park by executive leadership, clinic operations, patient safety, quality improvement, and others. The candidate must possess analytical skills necessary to develop complex programming solutions to difficult problems. The successful candidate will have the ability to understand and translate business and clinic needs and suggest technology solutions, learning clinic workflows and associated database touchpoints as required for effective reporting. Within project teams, they will be the data and reporting expert. This position will be critical to ensure that the various reporting needs are met to assist in transformation efforts to continually improve the way patient care is delivered at all levels of the organization.

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems or a related field and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time experience in programming or packaged systems implementation.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates must have a demonstrated knowledge of front-end web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as well as programming experience with server-side web technologies including but not limited to PHP, node, python, etc. Experience with SQL and relational databases and a working knowledge of HTTP protocol and client/server network architecture is desired. They will be knowledgeable in the software development lifecycle and use of version control (git). The preferred candidate will be proficient in a business intelligence tool such as Microsoft Power BI. Previous experience working in a healthcare setting is ideal but not required.
