Meet the team: We are hiring for a remote based Software Development Engineer 2. In this role, you will be a key contributor to the Data Platforms team and the larger Dexcom Software and Data Organization. You will work with Data Platform Engineers to build the infrastructure to support our data ingestion, pipelines, storage, and API through which reliable, clean, meaningful data is provided to internal and external stakeholders. At Dexcom, you can use your software engineering skills for the greater good. We develop software for medical devices and systems. Our software quality standards conform to the rigorous requirements of regulatory agencies such as ISO and FDA. Where you come in:

  • Develop cloud-based software systems as part of a multi-disciplinary team that works with in an Agile methodology environment.
  • Contribute to software across the development lifecycle including software design and architecture, code development, functional and performance testing, and documentation and design verification.
  • Contribute to code reviews and champion best practices for quality control, software testing and code development/deployment in an agile environment.
  • Work with others to develop a good understanding the design, architecture and coding of existing internally developed applications to be able to maintain and update them
  • Support QA in diagnosing and resolving bugs during testing
  • Manage code via GitHub and work tasks within JIRA
  • Protect the confidentiality and security of client data

What makes you successful:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Mathematics or Engineering from an accredited academic university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to coding in a general-purpose programming language (Prefer Java/Kotlin/Scala, else Python/Go/C++/...)
  • Good experience with data structures or algorithms
  • Proven ability to learn new tools and technology
  • Previous experience with writing data pipelines and/or Google Cloud Platform is a plus.

Experience and Education Requirements:
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 2-5 years related experience or Master's degree and 0-2 years equivalent experience.

Remote Workplace: Your location will be a home office; you are not required to live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km). If you reside within commuting distance of a Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km) a hybrid working environment may be available.

$91,400.00 - $152,300.00
