Position Overview

The Novelis North America (NNA) Supply Chain team is seeking a Supply Chain Planning Analyst - Metal Inputs.

This role is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing NNA metal inputs. Within this role, the Supply Chain Analyst will assist the business in understanding and improving ingot and scrap inventory positions to meet current and long-term business needs and collaborating with business unit personnel to build and maintain reporting and analysis in support of the NNA supply chain and recycling teams. Furthermore, responsibilities will include handling scrap movements from all finish tolling and warehouse locations.

In addition, this the position will support the monthly S&OP as well as annual planning and strategic planning process by ensuring data accuracy and integrity in the S&OP tools, supporting continuous improvements of the tool and process as well as developing analysis and reporting tools in order to support the decision-making process.

Responsibilities

  • Analysis of NNA metal inputs including ingot, scrap, and prime with primary focus on the NNA Northern System. As the business continues to transform and optimize all aspects of operations including but not limited to customer service, on time delivery, improved yields, lower costs, and more effective working capital positions, the business requires an increased analysis and focus on the optimization of ingot, scrap and prime needs
  • Optimization of analysis of ingot, scrap, and prime forecasts and strategic inventory positions across product lines. Expected to create and develop tools and reports in SAP, Excel, and Business Intelligence in support of the business unit goals and objectives
  • Ensure timely movement of scrap from all of the finish tollers and warehouses. Furthermore, the role will be responsible for optimizing and improving the flow and processing / process of scrap within SAP
  • Ensure we maintain a safe working environment
  • Analyze and refine Ingot demand signal
  • Creation of a RAR scrap projection model and ongoing analysis and Forecasting of RAR scrap
  • Creation of tools in SAP & Excel to optimize procurement of metal inputs and interplant scrap returns.
  • Creation of value based BOMs within metal plan and at the plant level.
  • Analysis & optimization of metal input assumptions within the S&OP and NTP
  • Participate in and support the development and execution of the S&OP
  • Creation of tools and reports within SAP, Excel, and BI to provide improved analysis and the ability to make better or timelier decisions.
  • Develop, distribute, and maintain key reporting and analysis in support of managing and tracking against business objectives and goals

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Qualifications
  • 5 years' experience in Supply Chain or related area
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Finance or related field is preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment required. Strongly preferred to be in aluminum rolling or scrap manufacturing and/or recycling
  • Superior analytical and pc skills, including sophisticated ability in Excel
  • SAP Experience
  • Strong understanding of relational database design and query tools
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to perform work accurately and independently
  • Meticulous, flexible to change and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills; ability to communicate with all levels in the organization
  • Standout colleague, able to collaborate across organizational and/or geographical boundaries
  • Desire to take initiative and develop a dedicated relationship with internal customers
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload; must be able to handle multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail
  • Must be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills with sophisticated proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong digital literacy with software applications proficiency, including Microsoft Office products and SAP
