This position is based out of our Corporate HQ at the historic Old Post Office building in Chicago, IL (currently remote, future is a hybrid remote/in-person opportunity). Approximately 60% travel to facilities required.

The Supplier Quality Manager is accountable for holistic management of the Quality and Food Safety policies, procedures and systems for approval and ongoing monitoring of Ferrara's raw material and packaging material vendors. This role leads the supplier quality team in strategic thinking and governance of Ferrara's supplier quality through engaging, leading and collaborating to ensure delight in every bite.

Ways You Will Make a Difference

- Responsible for the totality of Ferrara's supplier quality team management including supplier approval, monitoring, non-conformance resolution, score carding, goal setting and talent management

- Acts as the foremost quality expert for all quality and food safety topics applicable to raw material and packaging material suppliers and the quality and safety of the materials provided

- Develops, improves and maintains robust quality and food safety systems to assess and monitor the performance of raw and packaging material suppliers as well as the quality and safety of the materials provided

- Leads the team of direct reports through site approvals, audits, ongoing monitoring, continuous improvement and non-conformance resolution

- Oversees execution of Ferrara quality and food safety strategy and initiatives, ensuring management of progress and stakeholder updates

- Establish, track, trend and report on strategic key performance indicators for overall supplier quality landscape

- Influences internal stakeholders and external partners to implement the quality and food safety strategy and requirements through proactive engagement and key performance indicators to deliver finished products that meet Ferrara quality and food safety requirements for customers and consumers

- Lead continuous improvement initiatives including quality and food safety system, process and program improvements for the overall supplier quality landscape

- Provide leadership and direction for incident management and escalations including participation in recall or special situation team meetings and ensuring closure of resulting corrective/preventive actions

- Contributing member of the supply chain quality management team aligning supplier quality vision with internal quality goals and driving interdepartmental collaboration

- Establishes and nurtures cross functional internal and external partnerships driving quality culture and Ferrara's Quality Promise to both internal and external partners

- Responsible for management of the Tracegains Supplier Quality Management System including but not limited to supplier documentation, ingredient documentation and system based supplier audits

Experiences That Will Support Your Success

  • Bachelor's degree in Sciences or Engineering; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 6 years experience within progressive Quality and Food Safety roles within manufacturing or corporate quality
  • Supplier Quality Management experience
  • Prior experience leading a team and/or managing direct reports
  • Working knowledge of raw material and packaging material quality
  • Knowledge of FMSA requirements for food production facilities (including FSVP and HARPC)
  • PCQI and FSVP training preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Experience using SAP preferred
