Description:

Our client is currently seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to primarily work directly with suppliers in the procurement of raw materials as well as indirect procurement for finished goods, capital expenditure, services, etc.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Applying market indices, forecasting techniques, and benchmarking tools to analyze raw material market dynamics.
• Evaluating suppliers based on criteria such as price, quality, and availability.
• Cultivating and managing supplier relationships, including supplier visits to assess new and existing vendors through qualifying value-added services, pricing structures, production capacity, and on-time delivery.
• Conduct negotiations with suppliers on behalf of the company, securing optimal terms within budgetary constraints and defined authority.
• Collaborate internally with Research and Development personnel to assess products for procurement, utilizing testing, observation, or examination methods.
• Determine the most effective procurement method for each supplier engagement.
• Report and maintain comprehensive procurement records and activity including documentation of services purchased, costs, delivery details, product quality and performance, and material inventories.
• Address defective or unacceptable goods or services by liaising with inspection, quality control personnel, users, vendors, and other stakeholders to identify and implement corrective actions.
• Authorize payments and diligently manage receipts, records, and inventories.
• Engage with suppliers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve shipping errors

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
• 3+ years' procurement experience in manufacturing working directly with suppliers
• Experience in S2P model including supplier management: sourcing and selection, negotiation, quality, purchasing raw materials for production, commodity market analysis
• SAP or similar ERP experience
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
