Job Description

Perform warehouse work related to receipt, shipment, storage, distribution, or delivery of products, parts, and materials. Load, unload, move, or store items according to delivery or routing documents, or supervisor instructions. Operate a hand truck, forklift, or other heavy equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or GED; one to three years of related experience and/or training
• Displays good time management skills, including punctuality and limiting downtime
• Working knowledge of materials system
• Follows safety procedures to create the proper environment in accordance with company policies
• Displays pride in one's work by consistently working hard and producing accurate results
• Attention to detail to ensure items are properly stored and orders are filled according to specifications
• Operates forklift and completes certification for its use
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and write correspondence
• Basic mathematical and counting skills - Inventory control
• Ability to apply common sense understanding and to deal with problems effectively

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES:
• Receive trucks and unload merchandise
• Stock and retrieve parts
• Load and unload trucks
• Ensure machinery is checked daily by Material Handlers
• Check in merchandise and affix labels
• Match paperwork with inbound and outbound deliveries
• Fulfill customer orders by scheduling deliveries
• Follow all safety codes
• Place merchandise on pallets or shelves for distribution
• Record amounts of materials or items received
• Sort material according to product code
• Carry out tasks as assigned by the warehouse supervisor / manager
• Identify damage, loss, or surplus of goods and materials stored in the warehouse
• Compile inventory balances
• Maintain records of all activities and processes pertaining to the storehouse
• Audit Material Handlers' charge outs
• Delegate duties as necessary
• Fill in for supervisor as necessary
• Perform other tasks as required by department supervisor / manager

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Withstand moderate noise level
• Standing, walking
• Reaching, handling
• Regular lifting of up to 50 pounds for up to 10 hours per day
• Depth perception
• Environment includes working near moving mechanical parts, vibration, fumes, and exposure to outdoor weather conditions
