Job Title: Stationary Engineer - Part Time (Fort Belvoir)

Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for a Part Time Stationary Engineer in Ft. Belvoir, VA

The Part-time Stationary Engineer monitors, repairs, and performs Preventative Maintenance (PM) on all the equipment in the Central Utilities Plant (CUP) and hospital for appropriate system equipment. This position requires a licensed engineer that has mechanical and electrical aptitudes. This is a weekend, day, or night shift position, not to exceed 48 hours per 2 week pay period.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Monitors the equipment within the CUP utilizing the Building Monitoring System (BMS)
    • Monitors the Power Monitoring System (PMS) to ensure that the electrical systems are operational.
    • Works with the Building Engineer in the hospital to ensure that all mechanical systems are operational.
    • Make equipment rounds per shift and record data according to department policy. Monitors the equipment within the CUP.
    • Operate, Maintain, and Repair equipment within the CUP as required. Identify and located parts as required to perform repair activities.
    • Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) on CUP equipment as required.
    • Complete Work Order and Preventative Maintenance (PM) paperwork in a timely and professional manner.
    • Perform water treatment testing as directed by the Chief Stationary Engineer and enter data in shift log.
    • Participate in the monthly running of the emergency generators.
    • Participate in the weekly testing of the fire pumps.
    • Receive fuel delivers and update daily fuel level logs
    • Perform housekeeping in various rooms within the CUP as directed by the Chief Stationary Engineer.
    • Maintain a daily logbook of all shift activities in accordance with department policy.
    • Control and record all maintenance and repair activities of all vendors in the CUP.
    • Read, understand, and sign off on weekly Toolbox safety literature.
    • Follow and implement standard Lock Out Tag Out policies and procedures.
    • Obtain an OSHA 10 General Industry Safety and Health certification
    • Word extended hours as required.

    Qualifications:
    • Must have a current Maryland 1st class or a District of Columbia 3rd Class Stationary Engineer license.
    • Must have a current Universal CFC license.
    • Valid driver's license required.
    • Must complete a OSHA 10 General Safety and Health Training class (supplied by EMCOR).
