Title: Sr. Program Manager, Operations Excellence

Primary Focus Area: Systems & Tools (Front)

Job Family & Code: [Program Manager IV – AP4F004]

Customer success is one of Uber Freight’s core values. When we deliver a high-quality experience for our users through our marketplace, products, and services, we help their businesses thrive while also driving growth, efficiency, and profitability for Uber Freight. The Excellence team in Uber Freight’s Transportation Management (TM) business focuses on bringing this value – and what it entails – to life each and every day we come to work.

As a Sr. Program Manager on the team, you will drive continuous improvement to TM operations by flexing your analytical & operational muscles to break down the most complex and interesting challenges and opportunities we face across the different areas of the business. From load planning to appointment scheduling to track & trace to financials and everything in between – you’ll build deep technical and functional subject matter expertise that enables you to problem solve at a high level.

You’ll own and shape our strategy for operational excellence by going deep operationally (with our customers and front-line operators) and analytically (with our data and systems) to uncover new findings that inform our strategy. Then you'll bring that strategy to life by leading the programs and executing the projects it entails, including building the policies, processes, and systems that guide our decision-making and execution across the business.

The leadership you provide and the improvements you drive across our business will play a critical role in Uber Freight’s ability to deliver on our vision and help our customers and communities thrive.

What the Candidate Will Do

  • Leadership – you will serve as the leader of our systems & tools team, guiding our thinking & decision making on how to build our ops systems for scale to deliver the best possible results for the business
  • Strategic Planning – you will help drive the strategic planning process across the operational excellence organization
  • Ops Workflow Management – you will drive the architecture and design of our core ops system (Front) for managing email-based workflows in the TM business; you will build, configure, and maintain/optimize this and other systems while supporting our growing Front user community through new user onboardings, trainings, and general troubleshooting with your team
  • Analytics – you will create and execute various analytics projects to inform team strategy and internal stakeholders; including the development of reports, dashboards, and scripts/automations using Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, SQL, and Tableau
  • Product – you will work with product operations and product teams to develop business cases and insights from operations and client engagement teams
  • Project Management – you will identify, plan, and execute projects and root cause analyses to improve our existing processes across the business
  • Operations Management – you will collaborate with customers and front-line operations teams to identify process inefficiencies and build solutions that drive operational efficiency
  • Stakeholder Management – you will organize and structure work across a variety of cross-functional teams to deliver on shared goals and priorities

Basic Qualifications
  • College degree or equivalent (with preference for business, supply chain, and/or STEM focus)
  • Minimum 5 years related experience
  • Technical proficiency in Google/Microsoft productivity tools

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building, configuring, and maintaining workflows/systems for operators with elevated preference for domain-specific knowledge in Front, Zendesk, or other communication platform technologies
  • First-hand experience working within the supply chain, logistics, transportation, and/or technology space(s) and/or in an entrepreneurial capacity
  • General knowledge of Transportation Industry and/or Transportation Management Systems
  • Technical proficiency in Tableau and/or SQL
