Job Description:

The Sr Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team(s) of engineers at a senior level, and executing on the assigned area of focus. We are looking for a technical leader that follows agile management practices and has demonstrated project management experience on several large projects.

This position is hybrid based in Minneapolis, MN.

Accountabilities:

• Consistently leads delivery of major initiatives with clear timelines for end to end solutions, communicates timeline, scope and technical issues to other engineering and product leaders with clear, well thought out recommendations.
• Acts as a leader for the technical roadmap for the pillar. Communicates the timeline, scope and risks to their pillar partners, and leads the delivery of major initiatives.
• Identify areas of strategic technical debt, perform a cost/benefit analysis for resolving this debt, and communicates timeline to management.
• Partners closely with the Product lead to manage project scope and ensure the technical deliverables are met.
• Collaborates with analytics and other areas of the business as needed.
• Identifies and prioritizes high-value projects and keeps the team focused on these.
• People leadership; including workforce planning, performance management, team development, involvement in selection and recruitment activities, and managing employee engagement.
• Researches new technologies, stays current on industry trends and standards, and makes recommendations to Product leadership.
• Assists in triaging critical systems.
• Drives SDLC for the software they support by resolving issues fast and minimizing customer impacts.
• Produces quality metrics on the SDLC process, enforcing them and raising standards to share across other engineering leaders.
• Ensures software the team creates is monitorable, HA, and meets security standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 10 to 14 years of applicable experience is required
• Must also have 2 to 4 years of team management/people leadership.
