Job Description:

TheSenior Director, Location Sciencemanages a team of geospatial analysts, engineers and scientists, who are responsible for developing state-of-the-art location intelligence products for our clients. You will oversee the implementation of our geospatial models, solutions, applications and products, the automation of workflows, and the creation of techniques to derive new insights from CoreLogic's unique data assets.In addition, you will provide guidance and direction to cross-functional team members to execute against key deliverables and milestones.

A successfulSenior Director, Location Sciencehas a passion for leading people and is also extremely well-versed in spatial model development and infrastructure practices of the GIS industry. You should be a team player who is comfortable working with other People Leaders, Product and Project Managers, and Development teams to support research, design, development and deployment efforts within the organization.

This role requires excellent critical thinking skills, an innovative mindset, and the ability to learn and coach team members on GIS technologies as needed. We are looking for someone who strives to improve geospatial processing and operational workflows by performing analysis and developing data-driven solutions. Above all, we look for candidates that have a helpful, can-do attitude, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Essential job duties include:

  • Develop and execute a long-term strategy for using GIS systems and technology to support the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities for expanding the organization's geospatial capabilities, markets, and revenue streams.
  • Advocate for the value and benefits of geospatial technology within the organization.
  • Lead geospatial innovation, bringing the latest from the geospatial industry to fuel innovation at CoreLogic and evangelize CoreLogic's unique offerings to external clients and industry forums
  • Lead and manage a team of geospatial analysts, engineers and scientists, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of geospatial solutions.
  • Establish and maintain location science roadmap, driving alignment with cross-functional stakeholders, clients and partners.
  • Establish and maintain quality standards, best practices, and workflows for geospatial data, analysis and visualizations.
  • Manage the technical aspects for geospatial research and development initiatives. This includes developing strategies and workflows for the creation, storage, transformation, editing, refresh, and development of new solutions.
  • Manage, mentor and motivateteam members to complete assigned tasks and goals. Monitor deliverables of key milestones and effectively manage risk.
  • Research, evaluate, recommend, and apply new and alternate technologies and platforms for the Location Science team.

Job Qualifications:

  • Leadership of our location science team to include our spatial analysts, specialists, and engineers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively up, down, and across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience coaching and developing employees at various stages in their career.

  • Customer oriented: meets individual commitments, works with the team to achieve team commitments, responds to request in a timely manner, willing to help
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) and nature of geospatial capabilities available within them.
  • Knowledge of popular geospatial platforms (ESRI, CARTO, Mapbox etc.)
  • Knowledge of geospatial tools, data formats, and techniques (ESRI, FME, QGIS, GDAL)
  • Experience managing workflow automation and scripting tools.
  • Experience using source control systems, e.g. GitHub
  • Experience with Atlassian products including Confluence and JIRA.
  • Experience using Postgres and SQL query language

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Computer Science, or related area. Other combinations of experience and education may be substituted.

Experience:

  • 10+ years' experience in a spatial development and production setting.

Annual Pay Range:
140,700 - 190,000 USD
