Job Description Summary

As an integral part of Global food safety, the Sr. Corporate Sanitation Specialist mentors, directs, and trains plant sanitation personnel to operate as a team with focus on food safety, sanitation, and chemical safety.
The Sr. Corporate Sanitation Specialist is part of the Global food safety team and is a key component of the food safety, sanitation, and microbiological programs at Lamb Weston. This position will provide technical expertise to the plant sanitation team, necessary to maintain food safety compliance as it relates to sanitation practices.
This position is a plant support role, will spend over 70% of time onsite at various facility locations. The key responsibilities will include sanitation program assessments, hands on training, evaluation of plant sanitation programs to elevate and improve sanitation effectiveness and efficiency results throughout Lamb Weston's North American facilities.
The role ensures conformance of the manufacturing sites to various internal, external, and state/federal regulations with regards to sanitation requirements. The role will interface between plant Sanitation and Food safety, Quality, Corporate microbiology in regard to sanitation and environmental hygiene.

Job Description

  • Onsite support for plant sanitation per schedule or for cause.
  • Provides training, resources, and corrective actions related to facility sanitation programs.
  • Recommends appropriate mitigation strategies related to sanitation effectiveness & efficiency to support root cause and corrective action.
  • Respond to sanitation-related special situations and provides guidance and direction to the process.
  • Interact with key internal stakeholders such as Sanitation, Microbiology, on food sanitation issues, programs, and procedures.
  • Work with 3rd party chemical and pest control vendors to maintain and improve ongoing services.
  • Under the supervision of the Sr. Corporate Sanitation Manager ensure that all appropriate pre-requisite programs applicable to the Food Safety Plan including training, GMP's, SSOP's, and others are developed and functioning as part of Lamb Weston's overall food safety system.
  • Validate chemical concentration and application, including manual and automated cleaning systems.
  • Provide manufacturing support, including advising all stakeholders on:
    • Validation of processes and equipment for sanitation effectiveness
    • Investigation and completion of appropriate corrective actions when pathogens are identified in the EMP programs and/or after hygienic restoration events.
  • Assist in development, implementation and monitoring companywide Master Sanitation Program
  • Analyze and assess Hygienic Zoning as it relates to environmental monitoring and pathogen control within all Lamb Weston facilities.
  • Work with corporate microbiology on microbiological issues to determine effectiveness of cleaning and sanitation events. Implement corrective action as necessary.
  • Keeps abreast of latest manufacturing technologies, systems, and sanitation practices.
  • Performs other related responsibilities, as needed, to support Lamb Weston's organizational and business needs.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications
  • BA or BS Degree required - emphasis in Food Science/ food microbiology preferred
  • 6 years supervisory experience in a food-processing organization,
  • Proficient in chemical sanitation practices
  • Experience with allergenic cleaning
  • Experience with CIP and/or COP systems (as required)
  • Demonstrated ability to direct, coach, and train
  • Proficient using Excel or other spreadsheet software.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills a must
  • Computer Skills: MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate's work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $87,170.00 - $130,750.00
