Position Overview

The Sr. Benefits and Communications Specialist will be responsible for creating and managing all communication channels for US & Canada employee benefits. This role will support Novelis North America and Novelis Corporate employees and their families with improving their knowledge of the Novelis benefits programs. This role will also support the Human Resources team in creating type one experiences for employees and their families.
Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Manage employee experience with their benefit programs by creating a culture that employees and their families are aware and informed on benefit programs
  • Manage a dashboard reporting on the employee experience using Novelis Benefit programs
  • Partner with HR to gain employee feedback and resolve employee issues
  • Provide a Type One experience for employees going through life events and need support from the benefit programs
  • Be the support for employees and HR BP as employees take leaves and the leave transition, e.g. STD to LTD, STD, and RTW
  • Own the relationship with vendor partners who support our Benefits knowledge building, training and communication efforts
  • Support management of vendor relationships by exchanging employee and HR feedback with vendors who interface with employees
  • Support the Benefits team in measuring and tracking vendor performance against service levels
  • Serve as an internal escalation point for issues related to vendor performance
  • Develop and maintain employee benefit communications including legally required plan documents, summary plan descriptions, enrollment communications, and notifications
  • Develop and execute employee benefit campaigns, resources, training, marketing material, and benefits web site content.
  • Provide communication and support to HR Business Partners to keep them informed and involved in changes and provide training to enable their support of employees
  • Manage communication that supports benefit compliance
  • Partner with Sr Compliance Specialist to develop and distribute employee facing communication to explain regulatory requirements and/or changes
  • Stay informed of all legislative, regulatory and judicial developments in health and welfare benefits and workers compensation; i.e., Health Care Reform.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required. Degree in Communications, Marketing, or Organizational Psychology preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in benefits administration and operations
  • Experience in communications and/or marketing
  • Depth of knowledge in benefit program administration and benefit compliance/regulatory matters
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize work so they can deliver on multiple projects timely
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail; delivers to deadlines and acts with a sense of urgency
  • Learning agility with an interest in keeping up with the changing benefits landscape
Location Profile

Novelis' Global Corporate Headquarters is located in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta Georgia and employs approximately 250 people. It is co-located with Novelis' North America regional office which employs approximately 225 people. Supporting its 24 operations worldwide Novelis' corporate office is home to the executive leadership team and global functions that support the automotive beverage can and high-end specialties value streams.
