Position Scope:

The Senior Outside Sales Representative actively seeks to increase sales volumes and margins by providing exceptional service to Strategic customer accounts and prospects in the highly competitive packaging industry. Continuously searches for and delivers new accounts to further grow sales, margin, and revenue.


  • Manages Strategic accounts within territory to include all pricing, planning, and CRM functions
  • Proactively manages territory to maximize growth and customer retention, while understanding impact to organization and the marketplace
  • Implements national sales programs by developing sales action plans
  • Strives to enhance margins by creating cost savings initiatives at major accounts
  • Understands competitor's products and capabilities, and how that relates to company's products
  • Acts as a consultant and a value-added resource to the customer
  • Coordinates communication between operations and customer
  • Prepares and communicates weekly calendar; reports all other necessary information through an internal CRM system
  • Reviews own performance metrics to ensure achievement of monthly sales, revenue, and margin goals
  • Attends sales meetings to review territory performance and receive company/product training
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Works from home office with moderate to extensive overnight travel

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA preferred
  • 10 + years of experience in sales; manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience with large territories a plus
  • Proven ability to develop and implement territory strategies
  • Successful negotiation and implementation of supply agreements
  • Strong leadership, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial business and data analysis
  • Self-motivated in fast paced changing environment
  • Works from home office with moderate to extensive overnight travel
