Position Overview

The specialist on the Technology Analytics team is primarily responsible for addressing client business issues through NPD's Analytics portfolio, including forecasting, segmentation, pricing analytics, analytic reporting of POS data, and buyer analytics.

Location: San Diego, CA, New York, NY or Port Washington, NY, but open to other locations

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis to activate subscriptions across client base
  • Translate industry trends, category trends and consumer insights into business opportunities
  • Engage with clients and account managers to identify new opportunities and brainstorm creative approaches to address client business issues with NPD's Analytics services
  • Leverage learnings from client conversations and questions to help inform future product development
  • Mine large datasets using Tableau and other related analytic software, as directed
  • Collaborate with internal teams to make recommendations on data quality and classification
  • Operate in a collaborative team environment providing support and cross-functional training
  • Take responsibility for personal development by seeking training, on-the-job experiences, and input from manager


Qualifications
  • 2-5 years' experience in market research or equivalent
  • Strong analytical skills and quantitative problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively - both verbally and in writing
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Innate curiosity in shopping behaviors, future outlooks and the Manufacturer-Retailer relationship
  • Demonstrate fearlessness and stability both internally and with clients in a quickly evolving environment
  • Works effectively with people at all levels in an organization
  • Self-motivated and willing to go above and beyond for the client
  • Highly proficient in all MS Office products (advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau a plus
  • BA/BS or equivalent with exemplary academic achievement
