In this position, you will be working with colleagues to define and develop the next generation of robotic systems for The Toro Company's products in the areas of electrification, automation, connectivity and control. As part of the Toro Robotics Colorado team, this individual will contribute to industry-leading innovation and the development of technology that benefits both customers and the environment.

The Toro Robotics Colorado team is looking for an individual that is passionate about software project management. This person should have a strong interest in developing and driving best practices for delivering high quality, testable and maintainable software solutions. Additionally, this individual should thrive in a dynamic, fast paced development environment and be able to apply agile principles to help the team meet deadlines and produce solutions that meet the product requirements. Balancing the demands of rapid development while also instilling and facilitating best practices for long term success will be a key attribute of a qualified candidate.

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:

  • Create both short and long term plans for software projects, setting milestone targets and delivering to deadlines
  • Driving changes into organization to improve and manage software development processes towards delivering more modular, testable and maintainable code
  • Coordinate with team members and across organizations to align software development priorities
  • Define, facilitate and monitor best practices and processes for project success
  • Collaborate with QA resources to ensure development teams are delivering appropriate documentation and testable code for validation
  • Make effective decisions when presented with various options on how to proceed with projects
  • Be the contact point for coordinating software projects that span multiple individuals or teams
  • Perform other duties and projects as requested

What Do You Need?

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Level II = 5-7 years of experience in software project management & software development
  • Level III = 7-10+ years of experience in software project management & software development
  • Experienced with forms of agile software development methodology
  • Experience with V-model design process for driving software requirements, implementation and validation
  • Knowledge of embedded software systems & development environments
  • Experience with C/C++, Python development and Linux, RTOS based projects
  • Exceptional time management, facilitation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to provide leadership and affect change through influence across individuals, teams and organizational boundaries
  • Exposure or experience with safety related software development practices and coding standards a plus
