Overview

i3 is seeking a motivated and ambitious Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Software Developer to join the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate (S3I) Joint Technology Center - Systems Integration Lab (JSIL) Tech Center. The UAS Software Developer will perform software development, system installation and configuration, automation, test, and analysis on Red Hat Linux, Red Hat OpenShift, Windows, and container-based environments with significant virtual network considerations.
Responsibilities

  • Use scripting languages to develop web-based user interface applications, system installers, and operating system configuration tools using JavaScript, Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
  • Ability to develop, test, troubleshoot, and improve source code.
  • Work with network engineers and systems engineers to integrate commercial and government software applications into Operating Systems.
  • Work within an Agile Kanban development model completing tasks from the project backlog until project completion.
  • Troubleshoot issues on Linux operating systems including dependency issues, version compatibility, and installation bugs on platforms disconnected from the internet.
  • Automate the creation and configuration of Virtual Machines and microservices.
  • Develop engineering technical material including but not limited to System Description Documents, Installation Guides, and Interface Control Documents.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors or minimum six (6) years or more of related experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Experience with web-based application development.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Experience with general Internet and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with systems integration, system administration.
  • Strong understanding of general computing system architectures and virtual machines.
  • Experience performing software installation and configuration.
  • Experience creating and deploying docker or podman containers is a plus.
  • Experience with container orchestrators such as Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security+ SE (or other IAT II base certificate).
  • An Operating System certification (e.g., Linux+ or Windows) is a plus.
  • Experience with datacenter disaster recovery is a plus.
  • Experience writing technical documentation is a plus.
  • Experience with Atlassian workflow management software is a plus.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment environments is a plus.
  • Experience securing operating systems IAW DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides is a plus.
REQUIRED CLEARANCE:
  • Must have or be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance.
