Description: Our client is currently seeking a SHIPPING & RECEIVING SUPERVISOR in North Carolina.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor. As the Shipping and Receiving Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our shipping and receiving operations, ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods within our organization. Your strong leadership skills, logistical expertise, and dedication to quality will play a crucial role in the success of our supply chain management.
Compensation: $65,000 - $70,000 base salary, Bonus, 401k, Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, PTO.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise Shipping and Receiving Operations: compliance with company policies and procedures, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Logistics Coordination: Oversee the coordination and scheduling of inbound and outbound shipments, optimizing transportation routes, and selecting the appropriate carriers. Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments to ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve any logistical issues.
Inventory Management: Develop and implement inventory control strategies, including accurate record-keeping, cycle counting, and stock reconciliation. Monitor inventory levels, identify discrepancies, and collaborate with relevant teams to mitigate inventory shortages or excesses.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of shipping and receiving activities, including receipts, invoices, bills of lading, and other relevant documents. Generate regular reports on key performance indicators, such as order accuracy, on-time delivery, and inventory turnover.
Compliance and Safety: Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws governing shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations. Promote a culture of safety by enforcing workplace safety protocols and conducting regular training sessions.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in shipping and receiving operations, preferably in a managerial capacity.
Strong knowledge of logistics and inventory management principles, including transportation modes, customs regulations, and warehousing practices.
Proficiency in using shipping software, warehouse management systems (WMS), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
