Job Description Summary
The Shipping Lead guides the shipping workforce and processes to ensure safe and efficient handling of products and materials. They are responsible for leading a shipping team to work injury-free/incident free in a manufacturing environment. They will provide leadership and direction for their team in a way that motivates them to meet all productivity, safety, and quality goals. They are driven to continually improve performance and embrace changes that will help both your team and company meet goals related to shipments both incoming and outgoing including storing and distributing all deliveries.
Job Responsibilities
- Use the Open Order Report in NetSuite to generate pick tickets and plan shipments
- Assign Shipping employees to pick tickets
- Communicates with trucking companies to schedule pick-ups and deliveries
- Assist with pulling orders; including locating, transporting, and verifying the appropriate product number and amount according to pick ticket, and scanning product from staging to finished goods
- Maintain organization of the shipping and receiving docks
- Ensure effective communication across all shifts
- Train new Shipping employees
- Other duties may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis
Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong planning and analytical skills, detail-oriented
- Computer skills, knowledge of Micrcosoft Office and ERP systems (NetSuite a plus)
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. periodically throughout the day
