Summary:



The Service Manager is responsible for the service and maintenance of all company-owned and operated equipment and vehicles to ensure all equipment and vehicles are properly maintained and eligible for use. This includes maintenance, preventative maintenance, customer service, dispatch, safety, training, inventory, people leadership and financial responsibility.



Preferred Qualifications:



Candidate should have experience in Parts/Service in the crane rental industry. Strong preference for candidates with relevant experience specifically relating to tower cranes.



Skills and Experience:


* 5 years related experience working with heavy equipment
* High School Diploma or GED required
* Holds a Certified Crane Inspector certification
* Good Communication skills and organizational skills essential
* Possess knowledge and experience to work independently and direct operators or drivers in accordance with Company procedures and policies
* Excellent problem-solving skills, computer skills and attention to details
* Ability to build strategic working relationships
* Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically
* Must be able to work 40 hours a week and overtime as needed
* Able to lift up to 50lbs and work at heights off ladders
* Must have working knowledge of Microsoft office products and Wynne (RentalMan) maintenance software



Job Responsibilities and Duties:


* Forecast daily service workload
* Assign work to mechanics technicians and shop support personnel
* Plan work to be done on a weekly, day and shift basis through the development of accurate estimates
* Assign work to mechanics technicians and shop support personnel
* Follow up with mechanics and techs on work order assignment and other assigned tasks
* Understanding and implementation of Maxim Safety and Shop Procedures
* Assume primary P&L responsibility for branch service operations
* Responsible for leading, directing and training shop personnel
* Manage the work order process to ensure equipment is rent-ready and on schedule


* Open and maintain purchase order system in CMMS
* Confer with vendors as to availability of parts and delivery schedule.
* Develop and implement current and improved systems and procedures in accordance with company policies for Safety, Operations, Sales and Administrative functions.
* Conduct inventory in shops and maintain accuracy in ordering, receiving, usage and adjustments to inventory.
* Assist in the training and development of staff and management in maintenance system areas (CMMS).
* Maintain records and prepare reports.
* Perform related duties as assigned.
