SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Training Developer to join our team at the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). As a Senior Training Developer, you will play a critical role in supporting the SOF service delivery environment. You will be responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining training capabilities for communications, IT, support, and end-user personnel across USSOCOM.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess and maintain current DoD Top Secret clearance and eligible for SCI access and NATO and ACCM read-on.
  • USSOCOM experience preferred.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.

Develop and maintain training capabilities: Create, update, and maintain training materials, courses, and curriculum for communications, IT, support, and end-user personnel.

Support course curriculum and training efforts: Collaborate with the team to support course curriculum and training efforts across the enterprise, including local, remote, and mobile training specified by the Government.

Instruction and facilitation: Develop and instruct classes on topics specified in the project requirements document (PRD) to ensure effective training delivery.

Collaborate with stakeholders: Work closely with stakeholders, including government personnel and contractors, to gather requirements and ensure training materials align with mission needs.

Stay updated with emerging technologies: Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices to incorporate relevant training methodologies and tools into the training curriculum.

Documentation and reporting: Produce required build documentation, training materials, and project status updates to ensure smooth transition and effective management of training initiatives.

Supports emerging program needs and priorities.

Other duties may be assigned.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Instructional Design, Education, Computer Science) or equivalent experience. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in training development and delivery, preferably in a technical or IT-related field.

  • Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
  • Proficiency in developing training materials using various tools and technologies.
  • Experience with content development tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia, Articulate 360, etc.)
  • Experience with training delivery platforms (e.g., Moodle, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment and coordinating with stakeholders.

Ability to develop and implement wide variety of training programs, including developing and conducting training and evaluation sessions in a classroom setting with enthusiasm and clarity.

Versatile and advanced knowledge of proven training methods and techniques related to subject matter.

Interdisciplinary Understanding: Ability to bridge the gap between IT specialists and USSOCOM personnel, facilitating effective communication and collaboration between these two disciplines.

Assessment Skills: The ability to analyze the needs of clients and organizations to tailor training programs that address specific challenges and objectives.

Problem-Solving: A consultant should be adept at identifying and solving problems within an organization, offering practical and effective solutions.

Adaptability: Given the dynamic nature of international policy and public health initiatives, being adaptable to change and open to new ideas is essential.

Digital Skills: Proficiency in using technology and digital tools for training delivery, collaboration, and communication.

Ability to provide ongoing user support, troubleshoot issues, and address challenges related to the adoption and use of health IT systems.

Skilled proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.) with ability to quickly grasp specialized software programs.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills with ability to prepare quality course materials and presentations.

Exceptional skills in researching, writing, reviewing and editing technical training materials and methods.

Excellent interpersonal relations skills with ability to effectively interact with others in the performance of assigned duties.

Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
