What you need to know about the role:
The Payment Solutions team is responsible for creating world class payment solutions for over 419 million customers and 35 million merchants globally. Our mission is to create seamless payment solutions that help our merchants grow their business in a safe and reliable way as well as enabling consumers the ability to pay how and wherever they want.

Meet our team:
Payment Platform Product management team is looking for a Technical Product Manager to build a Payment platform that is at the best of its health at all time. The scope spans geographies and payment types, enabling some of the largest and most complex use cases. In addition, this team is responsible for designing, building, and deploying the platform while working closely working with engineering and business stakeholders.

Your way to impact:

In this role, you will sit at the intersection of technical teams within PayPal as well as the various business units to understand customer needs around Payment latency, availability, scalability and reliability, which will allow PayPal to scale process payments in the future. The role involves collaborating with multiple internal stakeholders to deeply understand, tackle and resolve technical challenges and issues around global payment processing.

Your day to day:
  • Drive product execution for Payment platform health and stability
  • Ensure product requirements are defined globally, with scale, SLAs, performance in mind.
  • Clearly solicit feedback and distill vision, strategy, product benefits and results to our internal customers.
  • Representing the products to stakeholders and to peers across PayPal when it comes to establishing and enhancing Payment platform stability and health
  • Evangelizing payment platform product roadmap internally in informal and formal settings
  • Make tradeoff decisions based on technical and business insights.
  • Write clear, detailed, and thorough specifications and user stories for complex features, functionality, and products.
  • Participate in the QA process to ensure the final product meets the business design.
  • Working cross-functionally and build strong relationships with key customers (PMs from across the organization, software engineers, product analytics and other business teams) that will allow understand gaps and build the right solutions.

What do you need to bring:
  • 4+ year experience with technology product management.
  • 3+ year experience with service-oriented architecture and Agile development methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, MBA a plus.
  • Experience in Payments, e-Commerce or Online Banking is ideal.
  • Experience working on technical nonfunctional requirements and platform product management is desired
  • Experience with Agile development as a product owner for a scrum team, design thinking and customer centric approach is preferred.
