ResponsibilitiesThis position provides corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance for the chilled water and steam systems, associated support equipment, back-flow preventers, and critical measuring equipment associated with Florida State University Central Utility Plant (CUP) operations. Installs electrical apparatus, fixtures, and equipment. Responsible for training other CUP maintenance employees.
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years. Technical or vocational degree in appropriate mechanical trade area may substitute for experience.
Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
Other InformationThe position incumbent is required to be accessible and available to return to work during off-duty hours.
Per FSU policy, Pay Additives, incumbents are eligible to receive on-call pay. Eligibility is limited to USPS employees who shall be informed by the department via memorandum of the on-call assignment, except during an emergency.

The minimum hiring salary for this position is $36,250.00 and is to commensurate with experience and education.
