If so, the Product Analytics team has an opening for an enthusiastic Senior Data Analyst (Remote) with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to help us uncover/interpret trends, surface insights, identify potential customer pain points, and help us understand what, how, and why our customers are using our product. You must be proactive, self-driven, have endless curiosity, and empathize with our customers while possess the aptitude to dig into complex datasets in order to answer questions that our stakeholders are asking.  

This is a remote-first US position. Or, if desired, you can work in a hybrid model from one of our offices in Boston, MA, Waltham, MA, Gainesville, FL, or Santa Monica, CA. Whatever it takes for you to be successful. 

What you'll do:

Serving an array of business stakeholders across the company, the Senior Data Analyst will gather and analyze data on customer behavior, profiles, and product engagement that will be used to help make data-driven decisions that will help us to provide a better experience for our large customer base.  You will dive deep into the data, build models and provide complex analyses to help us predict usage patterns so that we can provide our customers with the right guidance at the right time.  

  • Lead discussions and serve as a visible team representative in cross functional meetings across the company to stay up to date on product changes that will impact the team.
  • Manage and coordinate project and report requests independently with minimum supervision; work with stakeholders to clarify requirements and add user stories/tickets to our Kanban board
  • Proactively track new features, and research new data sources to add to our data repository.
  • Proactively contribute to the Analytics Knowledgebase, write Confluence/Wiki articles, and share information and knowledge with other team members.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to recommend and establish success metrics and KPIs to be used to assess product feature adoption and usage based on available data.  Create dashboards that allow the PMs access to easily monitor the metrics.
  • Use available data sources and knowledge of our customers and the product to proactively surface trends, pain points, and opportunities for improvements and present them to the product leaders.  
  • Use Pendo and Google Analytics to examine flow success and build dashboards and use the results to make recommendations for product improvement.
  • Work with the User Experience teams to get a better understanding of our customers by combining their qualitative data (obtained from surveys, interviews, and test panels) with our quantitative data.  
  • Participate in Customer Panels and one on one customer (virtual) visits to get a personal understanding of our customers, their businesses, their needs, and how they use our products to be successful.   
  • Provide ad-hoc and ongoing reporting on customer behaviors and product usage during the entire customer lifecycle.  
  • Provide product usage, invoice history as well as account attributes of desired customer cohorts for targeted marketing and CLM (customer lifecycle management) communications.  
  • Summarize product usage patterns for the Customer Success organization to help in keeping our customers engaged and successful by being able to intervene and provide guidance when their engagement declines. 
  • Summarize product usage statistics to be used for press releases and statements to the press for the Public Relations organization.
  • Measure the success of product marketing communications, webinars, A/B tests using product data to determine if customers have been influenced to try different features.     
Who you are:

As a senior member of a team that's the single point of contact for product data, you must be able to understand the business needs of and build a rapport with people from organizations across the company (including leadership).  You must be unusually attentive to detail. Our stakeholders trust us to provide accurate data so that they can make critical business decisions.  You must have exceptional communication skills, including the ability to listen and ask relevant questions in order to elicit the stakeholders' requirements even when they don't know exactly what they want.  
  • 5+ years of business related experience that demonstrates:
    • Proven impact as a Senior Data Analyst in a Product Organization
    • An excellent understanding of relational databases, data warehouse, and cloud storage concepts, ETL.
    • Extensive SQL experience; ability to write complex queries to extract, manipulate and analyze data across multiple data platforms
    • Experience with R/Python in a business setting
    • Previous business experience with statistical/predictive modeling
    • Familiarity using ML and desire to experiment building ML models to turn data into recommendations
    • Hands-on experience with Google Analytics (preferred), Pendo (preferred), and/or Quantum Metrics to examine and analyze user behaviors in the product
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Tableau for data manipulation and visualization
    • Ability to Identify and harvest data sources from various data platforms such as Snowflake, My SQL Databases, Google Analytics, AWS/S3 buckets.  
  • Write complex scripts in SQL/R/Python to pull, clean and aggregate the data.
  • Provide insights into product behavior and engagement to inform product changes, using statistical analysis.    Be able to interpret the data for the stakeholders.
  • Build appropriate statistical models using R or Python to help identify relationships between customer attributes and feature usage.
  • Manage day to day research and data requests using Jira, deliver timely and accurate reports in Excel, Google Sheets, Data Studio and Tableau.  
  • Collaborate with your wonderful teammates on ongoing strategies to surface insights, and contribute to the overall on analytics knowledge of the team using Wiki and Confluence pages to share knowledge.
  • Work with members of the other Data / Analytics teams to leverage product data with other sources to be used for analysis and predictive modeling.
  • Develop regular reports using Tableau for consumption by all stakeholders.
