Description

The Senior Cloud Services Engineer Advisor performs analysis and research of systems and networks. Reviews detailed business and technical requirements in order to recommend technical solutions.

Location: Mason, OH or Atlanta, GA preferred. Alternate locations may be considered. This position will work in a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without current or future sponsorship requirements.

How you will make an impact:

  • Provides second-level engineering design functions.
  • Develops complex solutions from business requirements and architectural specifications.
  • Creates presentations and seeks IT management's approval and acceptance of significant replacements or reconfigurations of major business systems serving a business unit or location.
  • Directs the construction of architecture components (e.g., data architecture, application architecture, technical architecture).
  • Consult with application leaders to verify applications/technology conform to architecture standards.
  • Sets vendor strategy and direction; oversees adherence.
  • Designs and engineers comprehensive technical solutions based on business requirements and defined technology standards; works with architecture to update technology direction and strategy.
  • Researches relevant trends and activities in healthcare, business, competition, and regulatory environments; recommends strategy adjustments.
  • Serves as technical merger and acquisition lead as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Requires a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field of study.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in information systems, computer networking, telecommunications, systems development, and management; significant experience with multiple technical and business disciplines required;
  • Or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
  • Azure, AWS, and/or GCP Certification for Solutions Engineer or Architect.
  • 2-3 years experience with current Azure/AWS/GCP services offerings, security, data storage & networking best practices for solutions design.
  • 1-2 years experience with Azure/AWS/GCP development, DevOps, and monitoring tools.
  • 2-4 years experience in handling databases (RDBMS & No-SQL) Cloud Native or otherwise wrt to design, management, and optimization functions.
  • 1-2 years of automation experience with Terraform or Cloud Formation, Scripting with CLI.
  • 5 years of development experience with Python or Java in a microservices environment, REST APIs, and services frameworks.
  • 2-3 years experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • 3 years experience with Bitbucket, JIRA, and Confluence Atlassian Tools.
  • 5 years experience in an Agile environment and a clear understanding of the SDLC.
  • 5 years experience with software testing tools for functional, non-functional, and security testing.
