Under general supervision, the Senior Business Intelligence Engineer works collaboratively with others to develop, design, and implement metrics and data visualizations to improve GameStop's new, used, and trade-in business model. This position utilizes extensive knowledge of SQL and data structures to find new opportunities, measure business effectiveness, drive continuous improvement, and provide results and recommendations to management in clear non-technical language. The role will be instrumental in helping us improve our customer experience, by finding and measuring the factors that most instill customer trust and loyalty in our brand, and helping business leaders set the right goals to improve across those factors. The position will also deep dive areas of the business and market segments that are not as well-understood, allowing us to identify and leverage new opportunities. Associates in the role will mentor and guide junior BI Engineers, data scientists, and data engineers in data modeling, business analysis, and data visualization best practices.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

* Establish the right metrics to measure customer experience, business performance, profitability, and execution.

* Create robust and easy-to-understand data visualizations to quickly show senior business leaders key problem areas, new opportunities, and emerging trends.

* Publish written analyses on market segments and business opportunities to pitch new focus areas and product offerings.

* Break down financial P&Ls to more granular levels (product categories, price points, etc.) to inform our assortment, purchasing, the pricing practices.

* Applying our expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining and presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how our users interact with our core/business products.

* Informing, influencing, and supporting our product decisions using insight on customer contact and feedback

* Understanding the customer support ecosystems, user behaviors, and long-term trends

* Identify levers to help move key metrics

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

* Accredited bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, statistics, mathematics, or business administration required; equivalent work experience may be considered as a substitution. Master's degree preferred.

* 8+ years' experience conducting quantitative analysis

* 6+ years of Data Analyst experience on consumer facing web and/or mobile applications

* 3+ Years of experience utilizing tools like Tableau, R, Excel, etc.

* Preferred: 3+ Years of experience in either statistical analysis or data modeling (data engineering) or both

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

* Proficient knowledge of data, charts, analysis, trends, and evangelizing data usage

* Proficient database and querying skills including SQL

* Expert ability to work with big data and its query tools in Hadoop, Teradata, Vertica, or a proven track record of success with tools across a variety of similar infrastructure

* Expert ability in creating data visualizations (using Tableau or similar tools) that convey key metrics in an easy-to-understand format for non-technical business decision-makers

* Presentation skills including creating Keynote/PowerPoint presentations
