Description:
Responsible for scheduling patients for cardiac testing and procedures. May also provide multiple site and/or clerical support to our patients, care teams, and billing department. Works to improve efficiencies in the office setting.
Schedules cardiac testing and procedures for patients.

Compiles necessary documents for procedures and tests and fax to the appropriate facility.

Assists with patient transfers and admissions.

Answers multi-line phones when needed.

Maintains up to date knowledge of par list and any changes of insurance company requirements.

Check for referrals if required by insurance company.

Assists staff with all questions related to insurance requirements.

Obtains referrals and authorizations as necessary for all Jackson and Adrian office appointments. Assists other Michigan Heart offices as needed.

Arranges peer-to-peer discussions as needed.

Provides educational materials to patients for tests and procedures.

Answers all questions for patients regarding procedures and tests.

Provides assistance to regional sites and non-MH providers for scheduling testing/procedures for all locations.

Maintains patient confidentially in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

Responds to tasks in EHR in a timely manner.

Responsible for Process and Quality Improvement

Maintains good rapport and cooperative relationships.

Approaches conflict in a constructive manner.

Helps to identify problems, offer solutions, and participate in their resolution.

Maintains the confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patient, physicians, employees, and visitors to Saint Joseph Mercy Health System.

Discusses patient and hospital information only among appropriate personnel in appropriately private places.

Assumes responsibility for performance of job duties in the safest possible manner, to assure personal safety and that of coworkers, and to report all preventable hazards and unsafe practices immediately to management.
