Responsibilities

This is a 12-month, specialized faculty appointment (non-tenure track) with a 4-4 teaching load during fall and spring semesters, and a teaching and/or historic costume collection management load in the summer.

Potential courses include Retail Product Development, Computer Applications, Quality Assurance, and Intro to Textiles.

Qualifications

Academic doctorate or highest level terminal degree from an accredited institution in Clothing and Textiles or closely related discipline or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties, with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching.

Preferred Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have a range of knowledge in textile and apparel products and their development with the expectation to have expertise in at least two of the following areas and interest in a third: product development, computer applications, retail technologies, textile quality assurance, costume collection management and curation, and apparel construction.
• Other professional qualifications, previous experience teaching at the university level, recent relevant work experience, and/or a history of scholarly research and publications, are highly preferred.
