About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to effectively manage communication to all Retail bankers (branch and Customer Care Center) and lead the Retail Communications Team. That team consists of 4 communications and technical writing specialists who create communication, resources, and training for all Retail bankers and make them available through various channels. The goal is to provide Retail Banking employees with clear and consistent information so staff can serve their customers accurately while following standardized procedures and processes. This position will support Retail projects through collaboration of new ideas, creation of resource materials, and communication to Retail employees.

*Position could be located at any of the Commerce branch locations within the market footprint.

Essential Functions

  • Provide Retail branch employees the information and resources they need on operational and procedural issues. Assist with development, review, implementation, and communication of effective policy and procedure guidelines.
  • Ensure communication and resources are clear, consistent, and in line with corporate communication strategies
  • Manage the Retail knowledge management systems and assist team with creation of resources and communication
  • Serve as a Project Lead for the communication and resource efforts on Retail projects
  • Partner with Branch Support and Customer Care Center to identify communication and training needs and provide solutions to improve retention and understanding of information
  • Collaborate with other Retail teams, such as Retail Operations, Retail Systems Development, Retail Managers, Group Operations, and application Product Owners, on communication and training needs related to system upgrades, equipment roll-outs, changes in products and processes, and operations
  • Work with Retail Operations Leadership Team on department project plan, team engagement, and leadership development activities
  • Lead, mentor and motivate team members to implement the department strategy and manage department workflow with guidance on departmental projects/issues, and provide coaching and development opportunities appropriate to each direct report's individual needs
  • Perform all necessary management functions, including hiring, evaluations, annual increase allocations and disciplinary action as required
  • Communicate decisions, priorities, and relevant information to team members effectively
  • Support budget management, planning and expenditure
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
  • Strong knowledge of the retail banking operations and communications strategies field, including knowledge of best practices
  • Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to apply discretion and sound judgement to efficiently and effectively solve problems
  • Ability to drive results and balance management of organizational risk and meeting goals of the business
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate team members and foster a positive team environment that gives way to collaboration and unified goals
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the company, clearly expressing ideas and concepts both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
  • Advance level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Sharepoint, and Outlook

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in business, finance, education, English or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • 6+ years retail or operations experience in a financial services industry required
  • 3+ years leadership/supervisory experience required
  • Camtasia, Captive, or Bananatag experience preferred
  • Strategic Project Planning and Agile project methodology preferred
