Job Description Summary
Plans and conducts basic experiments to meet research project objectives, with close supervision. Assists in performing laboratory experiments and clinical studies for product or material formulation and development. Daily management of laboratory tool, documentations and processes to ensure regulatory compliance and timely completion of project/program deliverables. Closely collaborates with Senior Research Specialists and Principal Investigator (PI) on experimental/clinical work set ups in accordance to established protocols.
Job Description
A Research Specialist A is sought to work in the Dept. of Neurosurgery and Penn Center for Brain Injury and Repair to assist with research in the field of neurotrauma and post-traumatic epilepsy. Specifically, the research seeks to advance understanding of the acute and chronic neuropathological consequences of traumatic brain injury and will involve experiments utilizing in vivo modelling and histological outcomes.
Additional responsibilities will include the maintenance and general management of laboratory space, preparation of routine reagents, ordering of supplies and maintenance of protocols.
Qualifications:
BA or BS in neuroscience, bioengineering or related subject and 0-1 year of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as attention to detail are of great importance. The candidate should be able to work well independently, as well as part of a team.
