Two research associate, post-doc, positions are available in the Brandizzi lab at the Plant Research Laboratory at Michigan State University. The positions are available immediately and they are for two years with the possibility of an extension depending on availability of funding. The positions focus on the study of the biology of endomembranes in plants. The project will employ molecular and biological approaches to define the function of newly identified membrane proteins in the shaping of the endoplasmic reticulum and in the traffic of cargo in relation to the cytoskeleton in Arabidopsis thaliana.
Required DegreeDoctorate -Plant Biology, Biochemistry, or related
Minimum RequirementsPhD in Plant Biology, Biochemistry or related field
Desired QualificationsThe applicants must have a strong background in Arabidopsis genetics, molecular biology, gene expression analyses, biochemistry, microscopy and genomics. Experience of working on plant endomembranes is highly desirable but not essential. The selected candidates for the positions will join a multidisciplinary team working in the Brandizzi lab.
