Responsibilities

* Perform inspection, verification and documentation of first article inspections received from venders to verify conformance to the print using inspection techniques and a variety of precision tools.
* Implementation of tools to improve quality and reduce scrap.
* Provide continuous improvement of processes, parts and production.
* Trouble-shoot, problem solve and train the operators to understand the root cause.
* Maintain, monitor, and schedule the gage calibration program to ensure conformance with outside services for this facility and reduce calibration cost.
* Improve the effectiveness of the QRB process, root cause analysis and corrective actions skills by the use of Poka-yoke, six sigma, and lean principal tools into the process of problem solving and close loop solutions in improving the overall QMS.
* Assist engineering, purchasing, operations, vendors and customers as necessary in analyzing quality and manufacturing and vendor issues.
* Conduct the Material Review meetings to effectively manage the disposition of non-conforming materials.
* Review of customer returns (RMA's) after receipt in the Quality Review Board Meetings in an effort to eliminate customer complaints by 50%.
* Reduce customer complaints and develop new ideas and methods for improving quality to reduce custumer complaints by 50%.

Essential Functions

* Using inspection techniques and a variety of precision tools and coordinate measuring machines (1st article inspection) determine parts' conformance to print requirements
* Root cause analysis of product quality issues initially with heavy reliance on verbal and written communication with those involved, both internal and external to the Company - e.g. suppliers, engineers, Jackson employees, etc.
* Administer gage calibration process to insure produced and assembled items conform to print requirements
* Assist production and assembly, as needed, in interpreting print data insuring products/ items meet print requirement(s)
* Insure successful new product launch(s) working with design engineering using several measuring tools/techniques confirming items meet specified requirements
* Conduct analysis of product returns (RMA's), identifying cause / possible cause of non-conformance and report findings at daily QRB (Quality Review Board) meeting
* Communicate with suppliers regarding quality problems/issues with items and work with them, sometime with other Jackson employees, to implement corrective actions.
* Assist Quality Manager in directing the Quality Management System (ISO), Potential Explosive Directive (PED), Equipment for potentially explosive atmospheres (ATEX) and FM safety and prevention loss.
* Complete documentation needed to support several testing procedures / methods
* Calibrate, validate, and maintain gauging and other measuring equipment and tools
* Collect, and use data to perform process capability analysis on new and existing product lines
* Perform Gauge R&R on measurement equipment as necessary.
* Perform other responsibilities as needed and as assigned.

REQUIRED:

Education: Associate Degree in engineering or business-related field; or equivalent experience/education.

Experience: Five (5) years manufacturing and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience to include read and interpretation of prints, standard engineering terms & their application, Microsoft Office, responsibilities in an ISO environment such as Internal Auditor, effective communication skills - both written and verbal, and conflict management and resolution skills.
