Job Description

We are looking for a Program Manager to facilitate the coordination of statewide nutrition incentive programming. This position will be full-time and onsite.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on nutrition incentive programming
  • Work closely with the DNPA SNAP-Ed Team to coordinate and align statewide nutrition incentive programming. Participate in the State Nutrition Action Committee (SNAC) convened by the DNPA SNAP-Ed team
  • Lead the Indiana Nutrition Incentives Network (ININ)
  • Provide content area expertise and state level leadership for FIM initiatives such as but not limited to Produce Rx and Double Up Indiana
  • Assist FIM Director to manage contracts, collect data, and execute deliverables of current and future programs
  • Participate in the Indiana Farmers Market Community of Practice. Maintain database of Indiana farmers markets and other direct marketing farmers, including SNAP acceptance and SNAP matching programs
  • Promote farmers market nutrition education, nutrition incentive programming, and SNAP outreach
  • Identify and build relationships with local food outlets such as brick and mortar stores, small grocers, and bodegas for the expansion of Double Up Indiana into retail. Maintain database of retail stores
  • Participate in Community of Practice groups with the Nutrition Incentive Hub
  • Represent on related internal and external committees and advisory groups at the local and state level to promote and implement nutrition incentive programs
  • Carry out grant deliverables and requirements, including data reporting and collection
  • Identify funding sources and support/assist in grant writing for DNPA
  • Plan/coordinate training programs and technical assistance, as needed, to internal and external partners
  • Maintain/update uniformed communication materials for Double Up Indiana.
  • Develop grant-related budgets and maintain a network of partners
  • Work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
  • Travel to service locations as assigned

What You'll Need

Required:
  • Undergraduate degree in food systems, public health, nutrition, or related field of study from an accredited institution
  • Experience and/or knowledge of federal nutrition assistance programs (SNAP, WIC)
  • At least three (3) years of experience working with some form of nutrition incentive programming (SNAP-Matching, WIC/SFMNP, Produce Rx)
  • Master's degree in public health or related field is preferred
  • Considerable knowledge of local, regional, and state food systems
  • Understanding of food justice and equitable food access
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver information to diverse audiences, including understanding of social media platforms
  • Experience with grant writing preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency staff and various key stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated
  • Considerable competency in working with, understanding, and interpreting data
  • Capability to plan, prioritize, and complete multiple projects simultaneously
  • Considerable experience planning and facilitating large meetings with diverse participants and coalition building. Strong interpersonal communication skills

Physical Demands
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
