Job Description:

The Production Flow Coordinator's role is to ensure the timing and sequencing of production through the factory aligns with the needs for production goals for on-time shipping of products on a daily basis. They must have a deep understanding of product knowledge and production flow across all work centers. This role collaborates with each work center, production supervisors, production scheduling, logistics, engineering, customer service, and each department across the factory to ensure on-time delivery of complete products to our customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Master Production Schedule.
  • Assist production scheduler with material flow and inventory status.
  • Utilizing the ERP system, identify any disruptions that may affect production including resource loading and material availability, and collaborate with the respective departments and functions to resolve them or modify the production schedule.
  • Work with various departments (e.g., Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, etc.) to remove roadblocks that are causing production interruptions.
  • Move material from one place or process to another as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Maintain production metrics including throughput, first-time quality, and efficiency.
  • Conduct root cause investigations when production metrics are not met and develop countermeasures to prevent future impacts.
  • Provide scheduling and management with real-time information on any ongoing problems or issues.
  • Set priorities and sequencing of production through various work centers to ensure single order flow through the factory.
  • Work across various departments and systems to ensure a cohesive strategy on a daily basis to meet on-time delivery with high quality. Utilize various reports and systems to gather information and make decisions on production including ERP scheduling, Late Order Notices, Ship Logs, Quality Reports(MRR), etc.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 to 5 years of experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to utilize various software systems and reports including ERP, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to effectively work across various teams and levels within the organization
  • Ability to initiate and conduct Vital Conversations
  • Ability to influence without authority
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of material management practices
  • Working knowledge of computer-based MRP/ERP systems.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills.
Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

ADA Physical/Mental/Workplace Requirements
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to stand (75%); walk (20%); stoop, kneel or crouch (5%), as required.
  • Able to wear safety glasses and foot protection throughout shift.
  • Able to wear hearing protectors (ear plugs) throughout the shift while working in an environment with moderate noise levels.
