Position Summary
The Physical Security Networking/Systems Specialist position coordinates network and computerized management information systems related to physical security, including access control and video management systems.
Specific Responsibilities
- Performs analysis of network needs and contributes to network architecture, integration, and installation design.
- Works with integrators to ensure that the computer system platform provides sufficient computing resources to deliver the desired level of business performance.
- Coordinates with other departments to understand and meet their requirements.
- Evaluates network hardware and software requirements and capabilities and makes recommendations.
- Checks systems to optimize performance and initiate recovery action after system failures.
- Supports control systems access and security process and procedure.
- Verifies service by testing and re-programming circuits, equipment, and alarms.
- Identify and correct problems for physical security access control and video management platforms, including responding to system alerts and alarms.
- Coordinates third-party maintenance for network hardware, software, and physical security systems services.
- Develops or establishes strong relationships with service providers.
- Prepares and maintains documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts.
- Maintains and tests disaster recovery plans.

Required Education and Experience
- A bachelor's degree, equivalent certifications, or equivalent work experience in the industry.

- Experience in IT for at least eight years and advanced knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
