SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for supporting Medicare Holding's Managing Director, Business Performance, Strategy, and Administration to oversee stand up of foundational JV Infrastructure and project management for the following work tracks: Legal, Regulatory, OGACC, Governance, HR, Finance, Actuarial/ Bid Prep. During ongoing operations, the position will support the Managing Director with additional business and strategic initiatives including pre-decision partner plan coordination. Across initiatives supported by the Managing Director, this position will support development of executive communication and partner plan coordination materials.

RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:

Implementation

  • Support the Managing Director, Business Performance, Strategy, and Administration to ensure the following functions are implemented and offered, through collaboration with appropriate departments, in a scalable and cost-efficient manner:
    • Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, Governance, Human Resources, Finance, Actuarial
  • Support oversight of planning and implementation efforts for the above functions including oversight of work track project management and coordination with the JV PMO lead
  • Support development of executive communication and partner plan coordination materials related to in-scope work tracks and other Business Performance, Strategy, and Administration topics
Ongoing Operations
  • Support the Managing Director, Business Performance, Strategy, and Administration with business and strategic initiatives including partner plan coordination
  • Support implementation of budgeting and financial projection processes
  • Manage expense and revenue reports to support growth and profitability optimization, including P&L for the Joint Venture Program and Medicare Holdings
  • Support BUR reporting and performance management processes
  • Work with the Managing Director and Emerging Markets strategic partners to develop strategic business plans that successfully position Medicare Holdings for profitable growth
  • Develop market scans to identify and compare prospective partners
  • Support development of executive communication and partner plan coordination materials related to in-scope work tracks and other Business Performance, Strategy, and Administration topics
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of materials and information presented to JV board of directors, Emergent Holdings leadership, and other governing bodies

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree. Master's degree preferred. Progress towards or completion of industry recognized professional designations; i.e., continuous learning, is required. Progress towards advanced degree encouraged. Practical insurance and business analytics is a requirement.

EXPERIENCE:

Five years of relevant experience which provide the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities. Previous experience in the insurance industry including Medicare is a requirement.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:
  • Strong understanding of insurance markets, including Medicare.
  • Strong presentation skills, both development and delivery, including technical expertise in Microsoft Office tools such as PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to work to empower others on a collaborative basis to ensure success of unit team.
  • Ability to effectively exchange information, in verbal or written form, by sharing ideas, reporting facts and other information, responding to questions and employing active listening techniques.
  • Ability to effectively present budgetary and/or cost information and respond to questions as appropriate.
  • Ability to establish workflows, manage multiple projects and meet necessary deadlines.
  • Strong management and team building skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of activities, practices and terminology for health care companies.
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis of various problem situations and address them or refer them for appropriate decision making.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective and efficient recommendations.
WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards. Travel is required.
