Job Description:
Ledgent Finance & Accounting is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join our team in Galt, CA. This is a direct hire opportunity for a skilled professional with experience in managing payroll processes, especially within the context of collective bargaining agreements, acquisitions, and mergers. The ideal candidate will have experience with union payroll, specifically related union payroll with SOCAL or IBEW, LiUNA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the organization's payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.
- Handle payroll processing for union employees, including those under SOCAL, IBEW, and LiUNA agreements.
- Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and stay updated on changes in labor laws.
- Collaborate with the HR and finance departments during mergers and acquisitions to ensure smooth transitions and integration of payroll systems.
- Maintain and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Prepare and submit all necessary payroll reports and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to streamline processes and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Address and resolve employee issues related to payroll.
- Conduct regular audits of payroll procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management.
- Experience with collective bargaining agreements is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with payroll in the context of acquisitions and mergers.
- Specific experience with union payroll, particularly related to SOCAL or IBEW, LiUNA.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
- Proficiency with payroll software and systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Mergers
- Experience with collective bargaining agreement.
- Experience in the finance and accounting sector.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
pay: $95k - $125k annually
