The Payroll Analyst will oversee the organization's payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. Serves as primary point of contact for payroll and timekeeping system navigation and training. Collaborates across teams to automate and streamline payroll processes within the Workday HCM and UKG Dimensions timekeeping system.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Payroll Analyst (Workday and ADP Smart Compliance)

  • Manage full payroll cycle, quarter end and year end activities.
  • Responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, distribution and reconciliation of payroll and the administration of the payroll system.
  • Ensures payroll accurately computes and records time, earnings, employee benefits, special deductions, taxes, garnishments, etc.
  • Responds and resolves any inquiries regarding payroll. Ensures payroll issues are escalated and resolved promptly.
  • Coordinate and process wage adjustments and other payroll related items.
  • Monitor tax reporting and payments and coordinates W-2 and other tax related processing.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of city, state, local and federal legislation affecting payroll. Understands and follows applicable provisions.
  • Assist Finance and Accounting team with reconciliation of payroll related GL entries.
  • Audit systems for accuracy; research and resolve discrepancies as they arise.
  • Identify the root cause of system errors to suggest process/system improvements.
  • Assist in review, testing, and implementation of systems upgrades.
  • Provide/assist users with systems training and navigation support.
  • Run and distribute bi-weekly and on demand reports.
  • Administers payroll related programs/systems.
  • Support HR leaders with initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
UKG Functional Analyst (UKG Workforce Dimensions)
  • Performs time and attendance audits to identify and resolve timecard exceptions.
  • Serve as point of contact to manage and resolve issues UKG WFD.
  • Troubleshoot and enter tickets for any technical issues.
  • Assist in review, testing and implementation of system updates and modules.
  • Provide support for system, including researching and resolving problems.
  • Assists in development of standard reports for ongoing needs.
  • Generate workforce metrics and labor analytics reports.
  • Provides frontline support to resolve timekeeping issues.
  • Works with HR team to train new team members and supervisors and assist in ongoing education.
  • Create and maintain admin and end user instructional materials.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to assess and create solutions in the system to meet department scheduling needs.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION
  • Minimum of bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance or other applicable discipline or equivalent work experience in Payroll Operations or Human Resources.
REQUIRED MINIMUM CERTIFICATION
  • No minimum certification.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
  • 3-5 years Payroll Administration.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and expertise with payroll systems, as well as domestic multi-state payroll experience.
REQUIRED MINIMUM SKILLS
  • Payroll tax knowledge.
  • Strong knowledge of Payroll and general HR practices.
  • Tech-savvy with Workday HCM and able to serve as a subject matter expert for evaluating payroll processes/issues within the system.
  • Proficiency with UKG Workforce Dimensions and/or ADP Smart Compliance a plus.
  • Willingness to continue to develop technical and functional UKG experience.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated time management, organization skills, and significant attention to detail.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with employees at all levels.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Office environment.
  • Moderate to advanced skills and experience with Excel.
  • Sense of urgency and ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Excellent collaboration and process improvement skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Workday, ADP Smart Compliance and UKG Workforce Dimensions experience highly preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) a plus and/or willingness to study for certification.
  • Experience processing payroll in a healthcare industry.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Normal Office Environment within a Healthcare setting.
