Department Information

The Indiana Institute on Disability and Community (IIDC) is one of only 67 University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. The Institute conducts research and training through seven Centers: Early Childhood Center, Center on Education and Lifelong Learning, Center on Community Living and Careers, Center for Health Equity, Indiana Resource Center on Autism, Center for Collaborative Systems Change, and the Eppley Institute on Parks and Public Lands.

Job Summary

  • Provides operational support for the Indiana Disability Resource FINDER database within the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community.
  • Works with the director of communications and the library services coordinator to help create and enter listings within the FINDER database.
  • Cleans and prepares data to submit for processing and leads the recruitment, communication, and outreach activities for the project.
  • Works with a wide range of customers both within the IIDC and in outreach situations to respond to technical questions regarding the database and how to obtain effective and appropriate information within it. Creates and maintains documentation on reports and operations.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required
  • Associates degree.
Preferred
  • Associates degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems Technology, or a related field.
WORK EXPERIENCE

Required
  • 2 years of database management or related experience.
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.

Working Conditions / Demands

This position requires remaining stationary for extended periods of time, with occasional periods of moving around. It also requires some travel to present and/or exhibit at conferences throughout the state.
