Organizational Leadership & Resource Management (OLRM) Tenure Track PSNS Faculty

Salary: $60,920 - $84,711**

Students at PSNS are part of the Industrial Trades Apprentice Program and the evening Helper Program. Apprentice classes, held at the PSNS, are currently offered in a four-week condensed format. The schedule may vary.

Olympic College is recruiting a full-time tenure track faculty to join the faculty and staff team at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS). The position will teach their full-time load at the PSNS. The faculty in this position will be responsible for teaching a wide range of leadership and management courses. Working closely with the Business and Technology Dean, they will receive one-third release time to provide Organizational Leadership and Technical Management faculty leadership and program coordination during the 2022-2023 academic year, and possibly beyond. This will include collaborating with the division dean on duties like strategic program planning; recruiting, hiring and mentoring adjunct faculty; curriculum development; and outcomes assessment.

A comprehensive community college, the College offers instruction in Basic Studies to include awarding a high school diploma, GED preparation, and English to Speakers of Other Languages; academic transfer and workforce education degrees and certificates; four applied baccalaureate degrees, and community education in the two-county region.

Essential Functions

  • Teach four-week quarters or other schedules as needed at the PSNS;
  • Provide quality teaching including related preparation, grading, and record keeping;
  • Provide class syllabi to students enrolled in classes by the first day of classes and to the division office as requested;
  • Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments in learning environments and activities;
  • Provide student advising for career/academic pathways, mentoring, and support;
  • Update curriculum as needed, including student learning outcomes;
  • Assess student learning outcomes;
  • Punctual communication with students, faculty, staff and administrators;
  • Maintain physical office hours at the PSNS for student consultation;
  • Attend faculty, department and division meetings and serve on college committees;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.
  • Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Organizational Leadership or related field;
  • Successful college teaching experience.
  • Desired Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Organizational Leadership or a related field;
  • Senior level organizational leadership experience;
  • Outcomes-based curriculum development expertise;
  • Competence using educational technology;
  • Experience working in an industrial or trades environment.

  • Additional Information

    Terms of EmploymentThis is a full-time faculty position contracted on an annual basis. Placement on the faculty salary schedule will be commensurate with educational background and experience. The salary will be prorated to reflect the actual contract days remaining in the academic year. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and this position is covered by the Association for Higher Education (AHE). Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the department. Evening and/or weekend classes, instruction at satellite Olympic College campuses, and off-campus assignments may be a part of the instructional load. ** The salary listed is a range and based per month of the quarter. Your salary will be dependent on your education (official transcripts must be submitted upon hire) and qualifications.
