What You Can Expect

The Operations Planner helps to drive production related planning activity at their site. This involves synthesizing various inputs in order to develop a daily/shift level production schedule, which will serve as the primary driver for the production facility. Additionally, the production schedule must be maintained and updated to reflect production misses, overages, requests from central supply chain planning for changes, etc. The Operations Planner must also communicate changes to the plant, and to central supply chain in order to maintain reliable production plans. In doing so, this position helps Zimmer Biomet commit to the highest standards of patient safety and quality in our products and services and to world-class and ethical business practices.

How You'll Create Impact

  • Maintains and modifies the production schedule, and communicates it to manufacturing operations and others, as necessary
  • Analyze the master production schedule from central supply chain for capability gaps to create the daily and shift level production plans
  • Receive communication and action on updated plan relating to high impact events
  • Conduct capability reviews, and communicate parameter changes across the organization
  • Act as a primary point of contact for other branches of Supply Chain, to take questions related to site planning, and execute on follow up items
  • Participate in the continual improvement of planning practices to ensure best in class production planning capability of individual plant, and Zimmer Biomet as a whole
  • Collaborate within the production planning function to ensure standard process
  • Communicate with E2E planner regarding supply disruptions or changes to the master production schedule
  • Monitor the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) and manage inventory accuracy
  • Monitor the integrity of the routings and work center capacities, updating as necessary

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Knowledge of supply chain planning and management; including but not limited to forecasting, master scheduling, inventory and associated performance management
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines and produce outputs on a regular, timely basis
  • Understanding of end to end supply chain interactions, activities, and underlying interdependencies
  • Ability to use analytical tools to issue, support, and execute decisions
  • Analytical skills and ability to extract meaning information from various sources of data
  • Ability to communicate effectively both upwards and across the organization

Your Background

  • A minimum of a BS or BA in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or other related field is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Supply Chain, Project Management, Planning, or IT Systems is required; it is preferred to have experience in multiple areas.
  • Experience with one or more ERP system is required.
  • Planning experience preferred.
  • Experience with medical devices preferred.

Travel Expectations

  • Less than 10%
